Over 4,000 Cagayan Students to Get PHP20,000 Cash Aid Under PBBM Program: Are You Eligible?

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Over 4,100 college students in Cagayan are set to benefit from the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which allocates PHP20,000 in educational assistance to five scholars per barangay across the province.

President Marcos made the announcement during his visit to the province, saying the initiative aims to help students continue their education while supporting development programs in local communities.

The scholarship assistance forms part of the PHP200,000 financial grant allocated to each barangay, with PHP100,000 set aside for five Presidential Scholars and the remaining PHP100,000 for community-based projects.

The program primarily targets graduating college students and scholars under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Kenneth Paula Celerico, 21, an incoming fourth-year student at Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus from Barangay Larion Alto, Tuguegarao City, said the assistance will help cover her enrollment fees, research expenses, and other academic requirements.

“As an incoming fourth-year college student, expenses for research and various trainings are quite high. The assistance from President Bongbong Marcos will greatly help ease our financial burden,” she said.

Manuel J. Dela Cruz, a fourth-year BS Criminology student also at Cagayan State University, said the financial assistance is timely as it will help fund his thesis and bookbinding requirements ahead of graduation. (GOVPH)
