The Remitly Cares Scholarship program is now open to apply for college students in the Philippines for the school year. The UP College of Education has recently announced the opening of online application for the Remitly Cares Scholarship program.
Remitly Cares Scholarship 2024
The Remitly Cares Scholarship program is an initiative by Remitly – an online money transfer service company in the Philippines. Remitly enables thousands of people to transfer money from the United States to the Philippines.
Remitly has observed that many people transfer money from the United States to their homeland Philippines and the main purpose for the transfer is to support the education of their dependents. So, Remitly has taken a step ahead to support the education of Filipino college students by providing scholarship programs.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholars who are qualified for the Remitly Scholarship will receive a total of USD$400 ( ₱22,800.00*) under the scholarship program.
This scholarship amount will be paid directly in to the scholars in the form of direct monthly financial assistance of USD$100 ( ₱5700*) per month over the course of 4 months.

Who can apply for Scholarship program
College students enrolled in the partner universities of the Remitly scholarship program can apply for the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
Following is the eligibility criteria required to apply for this scholarship program:
- Student must be a resident of Philippines
- Must be a Full-time student enrolled at a participating institution.
- Must be enrolled in any of the following participating institutions:
- Mapua Institute of Technology and
- University of the Philippines (College of Education College of Engineering, and College of Arts and Letters)
- He or She must have a General Weighted Average (GPA) of at least “B” (or equivalent) in the previous school year
- Must have no individual grades below “C+” (or equivalent)
- Submission of completed scholarship application
- Agreement to the scholarship Terms and Conditions
- Agreement to receive scholarship payment directly
- The student must intent to complete higher education program on time.

- An official Grade Report from the previous semester
- Proof of units enrolled for the current semester

Scholarship Selection
The scholarship period for this program is from October 2024 to January 2025. Qualified scholars will be selected based upon meeting program eligibility requirements as well as the contents of their application statement.
