OWWA Scholarship 2024-2025: Open to APPLY

The OWWA Scholarship 2024 program is now accepting applications from college students. This scholarship is offered by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), provides financial assistance to dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Philippines.

OWWA Scholarship Announcement

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is calling on all eligible and interested students children and dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to begin preparing the necessary documents for its upcoming scholarship program.

According to the announcement, the online application period for the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) will be open from July 26, 2024, to August 16, 2024.

Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)

The Education for Development Scholarship Program, commonly known as the OWWA EDSP Scholarship, provides financial assistance to qualified dependents or siblings of active OWWA members.

Scholarship Benefits

The EDSP program grants a scholarship of Php60,000 per school year, supporting students until they complete a four to five-year baccalaureate course.

Available Slots

A total of 1,600 slots are available for the EDSP Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for EDSP

To qualify for the EDSP scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be single
  • Must be 21 years old or younger for incoming 1st-year college students, and 30 years old or younger for those in 2nd to 5th year college
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university based in the Philippines
  • Must be a Grade 12 graduating student with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or its equivalent
  • Students already enrolled in the 2nd to 5th year of college must have a GWA of at least a B letter grade or 85%

OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)

The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program, commonly referred to as the OWWA ODSP Scholarship, provides financial assistance to qualified dependents or siblings of active OWWA members.

Scholarship Benefits

The ODSP program offers a scholarship of Php20,000 per school year, supporting students until they complete a four- to five-year baccalaureate course.

Available Slots

A total of 2,500 slots are available for the ODSP Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for ODSP

To qualify for the ODSP scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be single
  • Must be 21 years old or younger for incoming 1st-year college students, and 30 years old or younger for those in 2nd to 5th year college
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university based in the Philippines
  • Must be a dependent of an OFW earning less than US $600.00 per month
  • Must not be receiving any other scholarships

Requirements for OWWA Scholarship

To apply for the scholarship program, the following documents are required:

  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of grades from the previous school
  • Photocopy of birth certificate
  • Two 2×2 ID photos with name tags
  • Photocopy of Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
  • Original copy of Affidavit of No Child/Sibling Dependent
  • Photocopy of proof of enrollment

Application Period

The online application for the OWWA ODSP and EDSP Scholarship programs will open on July 26, 2024.

The deadline to apply for the OWWA Scholarship is August 16, 2024.
